Thereafter, he performed his residency in internal medicine at Akron General Medical Center and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease with Summa Health System/NEOMED.
From July of 1984 until June 2006, Dr. Heiselman served as Chief of Critical Care Medicine at Akron General Medical Center.
With an unwavering commitment to his speciality, he is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.
Maintaining fellowship status, Dr. Heiselman is a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is also a member of the American Osteopathic Association.
